SCAFFOLDING Q&A

Paul Turner from Connolly Scaffolding Ltd along with James Bruce from our client GMI Construction Group PLC and Bree Adshead from our partner Procure Plus attended Trafford & Stockport College Group Stretford Campus for a Q&A session with students interested in a career in scaffolding.

As we know the scaffolding industry is at a crucial point, and bringing young people into the trade has never been more important and by showcasing the opportunities this career offers, we can secure a strong, skilled workforce for years to come.

The students were keen to understand what the journey to becoming a qualified scaffolder looks like and the time scales involved. Paul spoke in depth about the traditional route by way of the Scaffolding Apprenticeship Scheme and also the route through the Connolly Academy. The engagement and the enthusiasm were high during the session and if the students choose to enter an industry which can provide them with a well paid, long term career...then the future looks bright.
