Wayne Connolly, Managing Director and founder of Connolly’s Scaffolding left school at 16 and became a YTS trainee in car mechanics.
At the young age of 22 Wayne borrowed £7,000 from his friend’s grandmother and started his first company in the motor mechanics industry.
In 2002 Wayne saw an opportunity in the scaffolding industry and grabbed this with both hands leading to Connolly Scaffolding being born with only 2 scaffolders.
During their first year of business, with just 12 employees, turnover was just over £500,000.
After 12 years of business Connolly’s have increased turnover 600% from their first year and have recruited over 100 members of staff. They continue to surpassed all expectations year on year with the combined group business turnover now exceeding £5 million.
